Service Description
Womankind's mission is to provide multilingual and culturally-responsive services to help survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence rise above trauma and build a path to healing. Their dedicated team of 70 staff and 150 volunteers collectively speaks 18+ Asian languages and dialects. They offer survivors access to a safe place to live, counseling, legal assistance, wellness activities, and so much more. Though they are an expert in serving Asian communities, their services are valuable and available to all.\n\nHelpline advocates can provide crisis counseling and help develop basic safety plans to use if you are not yet ready to seek help. They can give information about our services including residential, community based programs, and make referrals when appropriate. You only need to disclose as much information as you feel comfortable with at that time. If you are interested in more ongoing counseling or case management support or need further assistance, an advocate can be assigned to work with you long term. If an advocate who speaks your language is not immediately available, they will ask for a safe time and phone number to call you back. All calls are free and confidential.\n\nA chat and text helpline is also available Monday-Friday, 10AM – 6PM. Text Womankind for help in
English (1-929-207-5907) and
Chinese (1-929-207-5901). Chat is available on the website. \n\n
